Meagan Kimball

MEMBER AT LARGE

Meagan was inspired to join WL when her friend had three very young girls join their home very suddenly. Having grown up sheltered from most things, foster care was something she certainly knew about, but had never witnessed first hand. Being a part of bringing these three girls into a safe place was life changing. She became aware of the needs, challenges, and joys of foster care, and how much the system is stretched to the max. Joining WL felt like a simple, realistic, and great way for her to support the foster care community.

Meagan loves to travel. She and her husband have been to far off places like Nicaragua and Belize, and have been lucky enough to take their whole family on trips to places like Hawaii and Disneyland. If there's a trip to go on, Meagan is there! She also adores live theatre, and that her husband and kids want to come with her. Meagan thinks her kids' sporting events, getting crafty with her Cricut or sewing machine are some of the best ways to spend time.

Favorite book:
I have lots of favorite books! I usually love an autobiography of a person who has lived through tough times and come out triumphant.
"Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah, "The Sound of Gravel" by Ruth Wariner, and "The Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls were some of my favorites!

Favorite piece of advice:
“Surround yourself with good people."
